Is Plahn Group a Treatment Facility or Treatment Program?
Plahn Group is a behavioral health consultancy comprised of recovery specialists who work with, not in place of, the top treatment facilities and recovery resources in the world. Rest assured, as part of our high-touch approach, the Plahn Method™, we advise our families about appropriate options for treatment facilities and resources at various phases of the recovery process. We work with a deep network of the most skilled and reputable facilities, and only recommend those that are clinically appropriate for each individual in need.
What Services Do You Offer?
Plahn Group services are a comprehensive offering that delivers our proprietary approach, the Plahn Method, a long-term family systems solution for behavioral health issues. Our methodology is a seamless combination of services, provided with a concierge high-touch delivery, customized to meet the needs of each family we accept as a client.
Our Loved One is Extremely Resistant; How Can You Help?
Our methodology is designed to help families with treatment resistant loved ones. Many have had multiple treatment attempts with minimal gains. Included in our long-term solution is a compassionate intervention process, designed to include the family and move even the most resistant individuals to accept help.
Do You Offer Interventions or Case Management?
While interventions and case management are essential parts of the recovery process, they are only one component in the path to long-term recovery. Plahn Group offers a seamless combination of key services delivered together as a comprehensive family systems solution, the Plahn Method™, instead of à la carte services. Our approach prevents typical gaps and shortcomings that derail most recovery attempts, and has proven success when administered. Thus, we do not currently offer stand-alone interventions or case management but instead provide a complete solution that includes both as integral parts.
Our Loved One is Willing to Admit to Treatment; Why Do We Need You?
A willing participant is a benefit for admission to a treatment program. However, admission to a reputable treatment facility is a far cry from lasting recovery from a debilitating behavioral health condition. Behavioral health issues are chronic conditions that need a long-term family systems solution to create lasting change and overcome the issues. There will be many ups and downs that will call into question the individual’s ongoing willingness along the path to long-term recovery.
A family recovery plan administered by the family’s Plahn Group team often requires multiple amendments along the way as it is common for an array of issues to arise for both the afflicted individual and concerned family members. These pitfalls are what often derail recovery attempts in a more ‘traditional’ program.
At Plahn Group we know that every new challenge must be addressed with objective advocates and the best resources possible in order to sustain recovery. Plahn Group methodology is designed with all this in mind – preparing and proactively addressing issues as they surface. At Plahn Group, we work with the entire family system for a minimum of 18-months to help the afflicted individual and concerned loved ones truly and finally overcome addiction and/or behavioral health issues together, dramatically improving the quality of life throughout the family.
How Do We Engage?
After an initial consultation and assessment, we make a recommendation as to whether it is a good fit for the family to engage with Plahn Group or would instead benefit from a referral to another organization. Once a positive recommendation is made and appropriate information gathered, we prepare an agreement and determine the cost of services for the initial phase.
We typically ask that a representative from the prospective family speak directly with a current or former Plahn Group client – the client being a recovering individual and/or their family member. Speaking with someone who was once in a similar situation to them, or their afflicted loved one, and attributes their recovery and the family’s profound change to the Plahn Group approach is a powerful way to begin the process. This experience also helps us engage with committed concerned family members, who are willing to take actions themselves and understand what may be expected of them.
How Long is a Typical Engagement?
We work with each family for a period of no less than eighteen months, and in some cases longer, in order to create lasting recovery throughout the entire family.
Do You Ever Turn Away Clients?
Yes, in some cases we may refer clients to another resource. Some families are only interested in admitting to a treatment facility, or at most an intervention. In those cases, we will refer the family to another resource that is better aligned with their interests. Others simply may not require this level of care, or the family is not willing to be active participants in the long-term recovery. Plahn Group engages with families who are willing to take action and work with a behavioral health consultant, a family specialist who recommends actions the family can take throughout the process to support the afflicted individual, and the family as a whole, in order to finally effectuate lasting change.
How does Plahn Group Charge for Services?
An initial consultation fee is required to begin exploratory conversations. Should they result in a contracted engagement, this fee is applied to future services. After the initial consultation and a recommendation to move forward, we determine the cost of services for the initial phase. Please know that fees vary based on several factors. Plahn Group requires partial pre-payment for services and retainers for all hourly fee agreements for each behavioral health consultant who will be part of the process.
In some cases flat fee agreements may be available for specific aspects of our work. The family is responsible for expenses. Payments to recommended treatment facilities, programs, or outside providers are made directly to those businesses.
Who Pays for Services?
A concerned family member, individual, advisor, or company pays our fees, but the family is the client. Plahn Group does not receive payment from any treatment facility or program.
Do You Take Insurance?
No, Plahn Group is a private pay consultancy.
Who are Your Typical Clients?
First and foremost, our client is the family. We work with various clients affected by addiction and behavioral health conditions, be they professionals, entrepreneurs, executives, athletes, entertainment industry professionals, or highly successful families. Our clients tend to be very accomplished in many areas, but plagued by a behavioral health issue that is destroying a loved one and many times the family as well.
Plahn Group families seem to have a few things in common: they have been to some of the world’s best treatment facilities or hospitals, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to fix the issue with fleeting results, and are close to losing hope that their family can ever overcome the condition. The concerned family members are willing to take significant actions, including work with one of our family recovery specialists throughout the process in an effort to help their loved one, even if they do not at first see the need for themselves.
What Issues Does Plahn Group Address?
We work with a variety of issues and co-occurring disorders including: substance use disorders, alcoholism, addiction, oppositional defiance disorder, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, self-harming behaviors, attachment difficulties, and other mental health issues.
